The issues surrounding re-opening and the need to observe Covid-19 restrictions have, by necessity, taken up most of our time recently. This doesn’t, though, mean that we have not progressed other matters. One of our members is currently drawing up plans for adding a second storey to our current building, so that we may identify costs and potential funding streams. This is part of our commitment made at the EGM last October. You may recall that the options identified at that time were:
(i) Do nothing;
(ii) Go forward with a developer scheme (effectively giving up half of our site for a new build on the other half); and
(iii) To develop the current building
We stress once again that neither option (ii) nor option (iii) can be progressed without the consent of the majority of the membership. We will be issuing further details in due course.
We are still endeavouring to open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, at the following times:
Fridays: 12-3pm; 5pm – 8pm
Saturdays: 12 midday – 8pm
Sundays: 12 midday – 8pm
This is still subject to staffing constraints, so please keep an eye on the website where any late changes will be advised.
Although (as previously) described we are unable to offer food on a regular basis, we are continuing to look at options. We had hoped to run a barbecue this Sunday (9th August) but this now looks unlikely. If the situation changes, it will be announced on the website – so please check.
We do hope to host a barbecue the following weekend – and will keep you posted.
