We will continue (subject to the availability of staff and government lockdown constraints) to open the same hours for the foreseeable future.
Saturdays: midday – 8pm
Sundays: midday – 8pm
We were able to provide food on four occasions during August, and this proved to be very popular. We are therefore looking to provide similar pop-up events, using outside caterers, where we can. This coming Saturday and Sunday (12 and 13 September), we intend to run a limited barbecue (weather and other factors permitting) between circa 1pm and 5pm.
On Sunday 20th September, we will be hosting a Mexican Street food event between midday and 5pm – but subject to any government lockdown directives. Please see the website for further details.
You will be aware that our AGM was due in April, but was unable to take place due to lockdown. We had hoped to reschedule soon after re-opening but this has not been possible due to restrictions on numbers attending the Club. Some organisations and clubs have instead held AGMs by “Zoom”, but many of our members and regular users of the Club have advised that they would be unable to participate. In such arrangements it seems unlikely that we will be able to hold a formal meeting prior to next April, but there are some issues which need to be resolved – e.g. presentation of last year’s accounts and agreement of minutes. We intend to put a proposal to members for ongoing governance arrangements by the end of the month. This will be by e-mail, with papers also posted on the website and club noticeboard.
